We are design led but with a realistic approach. It’s a two way thing when we work with you, we first listen to what your requirements are and then work with you, your architect or landscaper to bring your garden to life

About
David and I live in the heart of beautiful Devon. We are down to earth, friendly and professional.
A wood-fired oven build, of our own, was the spark that ignited the concept of Out There Living. During the first lockdown of 2020 we built a pizza oven, more out of fun than anything else. We are the first to admit that the construction wasn’t well researched; David burnt his hair and eyebrows during the first lighting, it took an age to get to temperature and the pizzas were somewhat gritty – but it was great fun and it did instigate ‘Out There Living’. We have a much better oven now (made by experts) alongside other outdoor living products. Living in rural Mid-Devon and having spent many years camping with three children we have a genuine love of the outdoors and outdoor living. We also have a love and understanding of high quality design, and 'Out There living' has allowed us to combine these two passions.
David or Dave (either will do) has some 30 years of design experience. He has countless projects under his belt. His specialism has been in the design and manufacture of bespoke high end interiors, kitchens, and furniture. He has worked on numerous complex projects in his time. He now designs our outdoor kitchens, outdoor living areas and gardens - his designs are innovative, considered and with great attention to detail.
I am a former lawyer, who's always had a keen interest in art and design. I have been surrounded by design and building and renovation projects for the past 30 years. I left my career in law to join David in his work. I'm a stickler for detail, absolutely love procuring the right products and materials for the projects and I'm continuously researching new trends, products and materials for outdoor living. I am also the one keeping the projects on track.
